Free Small Business Help

Most small business owners aren't gifted with lots of spare time and they have an abundance of issues that need their attention.

They often don't seek help because of the perceived expense. But help is available at no cost. The Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) offers free counseling. You can find a score counselor or office near you through WWW.SCORE.ORG. SCORE has more than13,000 mentors and more than 500 chapters. You can do face-to-face counseling or via email.

Don't expect the SCORE counselor to do your work for you. No one ever said owning a business was easy. SCORE depends heavily on a business plan and they will not write the plan for you, but they will give you guidance. You can find a template for the business plan on the SCORE site.

The business plan is extremely helpful for those who want to start a business. Developing the plan forces you to think about pricing, competition, costs, revenues and what can go wrong.

Don't want until your business is in deep trouble before seeking help. The earlier you start to work on critical problems they easier they are to fix.

Even businesses in trouble have value and we often sell troubled businesses. Contact me for a free assessment of the likely value of your business in today's market.
