Business Interest Picking Up

I had an interesting meeting this morning with a group of residential/commercial real estate agents. Business is still slow and a lot of sellers are upside down on their houses and are desperate for some relief. Interest from business buyers appear to be picking up.

I have several potential buyers for a restaurant. You never know whether a buyer's interest will lead to a sale, but it's a necessary first step.

I also talked with a business owner this morning who is interested in obtaining an appraisal of the value of his business. This is a successful business with over $2 million in revenue and returns about 15 percent to the owner. He believes he already has his own buyer, but he wants a confidence that the price is right.

For many businesses I can come up with an estimate of the value at no cost, but for a full blown appraisal, which has value in the lending world, there is a cost.

Have a good weekend.
